The Red Sox beat the Toronto Blue Jays 4-1 at Fenway Park in game that had been suspended due to rain on June 26, 2024, with Jansen, then a catcher for the Blue Jays at bat with an 0 and 1 count. The next day, Jansen as acquired in a trade by the Red Sox and is behind the plate when Daulton Varsho finishes the at-bat with a strikeout. It is the first instance of a player appearing in the same game for two teams in modern Major League Baseball history.
